This Spring was an exciting time for the club. We’ve had four successful Derbies – North Carolina (coordinated by Matt Carroll), Alberta (Vito Caramia), Utah (Josh Morris), and Alabama (Glen Bridges). I want to give special recognition to Glen for making his Derby possible even though a huge storm was on it’s way into Alabama. He worked with the judges and handlers to hold the Derby one day early…just in the nick of time before the weather got crazy.
We have three new litters on the ground – Vom Kreistal, Vom Salzwasser, and Vom Tetonal. All three kennels just had their A litters. For years, the club has counted on several very experienced kennels for puppies, so it’s nice to see some new breeders getting their feet wet. I can’t wait till next year to see the puppies test.
The Annual Meeting was alot of fun and I want to thank everyone who showed up. We had a good time, saw lots of good dogs, had interesting speakers, and raised money for the club. Special thanks should be given to our sponsors. I want to recognize Doug Horton, Alec Losee, and Scott Jacob who went above and beyond for several months to make it all happen.
The Fall tests are coming up fast. I hope training is going well for all of you planning to run Solm, AZP, and VGP.
Best Regards, Mark Peasley
