Belin is a striking elegant female DK. She is best described by her sensitive nose. She is oft found pointing coveys several hundred yards off. Her ability to find and locate game in all situation is a strong suite. In the home she is quiet and calm and loves to play with my two boys. She is the definition of drive and cooperation in one package. She is exactly what I was trying to produce in a breeding female. In her AZP she scored all 4s with no corrections. We are lucky to call her ours.

Karlos is an impressive V1 male, the sort of dog that commands your eye and your total attention. He has the WOW factor. He is a big, tall male weighing in at 81lbs. He is calm in everyday life and is unmatched in temperament as a family dog. In Utah he lives with 5 kids, 2 female DKs, and a male miniature schnauzer. He is a total gentleman in the home with all big and small including visitors.

Karlos is very easy to handle. He spent the first 4 years of his life hunting nearly every day in Germany. Rudiger Stilgenbauer, owner of the vom Klepelshagener Forst kennel in Germany has noted “everything is easy with Karlos. He is always there when you need him.” Karlos has been described as one that will go into the water in any weather and reliably chokes all predators in the field. He works with a high nose, always in contact with his handler. Here in the US from Utah to South Dakota, it’s noted that Karlos enjoys working in total lockstep with his handler and other dogs as team. Karlos has a very dense coat, strong and correct bite, and true form. He has been bred by the Germans and has proven to produce correct and promising puppies.

Karlos has spent many days in the field and is proven across land and water including fur, waterfowl, upland game, and blood tracking. He will gladly dispatch varmin and actively hunted wild boar in Germany.

At the 2014 Dr. Kleemann Prüfung Etzel received perfect scores in field, search, and nose, with 4h in both the water search without the duck and with the duck (one of only four dogs to accomplish two 4h scores in the water work).

According to the Zuchtschau evaluation by the chief officer of the DKV, Etzel is a highly elegant brown male, with a friendly nature, matching male head, well placed ears, with very good stature, very elegant movement, perfect top and bottom line, movement the fore and hindquarters, and very well set and carried tail.

Successfully receiving a AZP Prize1 and VGP Prize1 (316 points), and VBR. Additionally, Uschka followed in her mother’s footsteps and received a V1 in the Zuchtschau at Weser Ems with 32 females in the class. Uschka was preparing for the 2020 Dr. Kleemann Prüfung when it was cancelled due to Covid-19.

Maggie in Germany, 2016

Uschka’s mother Maggie KS vom Trocken Bach had remarkable success in her education in Germany with Mr. Siegfried Hofstetter and Mr. Holger Hensel as her leaders. She completed the Derby Prize 1(j) (Walla Walla at 6 months), Derby Prize 1 (Switzerland), Derby Prize 1 (Zuchensieger DK Klub Südbaden), Solms Prize 1 (Prüfungssieger DK Klub Südbaden), VGP 1 – 324 Points (Prüfungssieger DK Klub Südbaden), BTR, VBR, HN, HD Frei A2, Fw: V1 in 2016 at Südbaden, V1 in 2018 at Westfalen all before the age of two. In conformation classes Maggie was the V1 hündin at DK Klub Südbaden and DK Klub Westfalen. At the 2018 Dr. Kleemann Prüfung, Maggie was the V1 Female from seventy participating. Mr. Hofstetter, considered to be the best leader in Germany, has stated that Maggie is a very special hündin with tremendous drive and great potential.

Uschka’s father is Uno KS vom Mausberg. Uno was a very stately male who’s breeding career came to an untimely end due to a hunting accident. He is 48% Hege-Haus and provided a perfect opportunity for an outcross with our Hege-Haus females. When we saw him at the Kleemann he caught our eye. It was impossible to watch the ring when they were placing the top males and not notice him. His performance record during his education speaks for itself.

Derby Prize 1 (4h Nose, 4h Search); Solms Prize 1 (Perfect Score); VGP Prize 1 (304 points); HD-A2; SG

Download: Ahnentafel

Maya was imported from Kennel Meracus in Finland because of the potentially outstanding breeding between Fi Ch Fiona KS von der Königsleite and Unkas KS vom Theelshof.  We are very pleased with Maya’s performance in tests but her accomplishments in the field and water have proven she is at another level.  Her drive and intensity are unlike any we’ve ever seen.  Even with her exceptional drive, she is biddable and an absolute joy to train.  Extremely intelligent, her ability to reason and make the correct decision is remarkable. From grouse in the thick cover of Wisconsin to the piney savannahs of Georgia, she adapts to both terrain and game with the seasoned maturity of an older dog but the athleticism of a youngster.  A relentless retriever in the field and water, her recovery percentage is unheard of.  She will certainly be a fantastic addition to the North American bloodlines.

Jager (Ivan) is a great companion and hunting partner. His intense drive and desire to produce game is matched only by the elegant and graceful manner in which he hunts. He is a stubborn retriever and does not give up on finding game. He has a very calm demeanor around the house and wants to be a part of everything we do. He loves to work and train. Jager possesses remarkable abilities and intelligence when it comes to “problem solving”. He carefully processes his environment and situation, always aware of every detail.

He has produced many wild quail, retrieved ducks and geese here in GA, pheasants in South Dakota and Iowa, grouse and woodcock in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We have successfully tracked many deer. Although Jager tested very well, he is above all else a “Hunting Dog” and “Friend”. His drive is beyond comprehension and will produce excellent pups.
